Make Hi-Vis SafeWear - BE SEEN & BE SAFE

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN: You’ll learn how to use the vinyl cutter to cut out your designs and the heat press to apply the fluorescent and reflective vinyl to a fabric patch. The patches can then be hand or machine sewn to any garment. Stitchers of all levels are welcome. Contact me in advance to discuss alternative projects more appropriate to your skill level. Send digital files of your designs at least two days in advance of the workshop so I can prepare them for the cutter.

WHAT: I offer a Beginning Sewing Workshop and an Intermediate Sewing Workshop

BEGINNING SEWING:

• Class 1: Make Napkins and Learn Seams

• Class 2: Make a Hat

• Class 3: Make an Earbud Holder

• Finish Projects

All materials are provided.

INTERMEDIATE SEWING:

• Class 1: Learn how to read patterns and how to make your own pattern. Make a pattern for your own mittens and make them!

• Class 2: Make a workman belt with several different types of pockets

• Class 3: Make a fun backpack (animal or monster)

• Class 4: Finish your projects

WHAT: I help participants work on their on-going projects, or start new ones. And participants help each other!

FREE - Bike Visibility

COST: It’s free!

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN: You’ll learn how to apply retro-reflective tape, spoke cover and tube covers to make your bike visible in car headlights at night. You’ll also learn how to use lights to Bring in your bike! We’ll brainstorm together to determine what would make your bike the most visible in dark streets.

MATERIALS: Bring your bike with you to class. We help you outfit your bike with spoke reflectors, bike light or reflective materials. You’ll receive a pdf full of information about different products and vender links.
